An original and innovative concept

Many large companies and worldwide institutions have chosen symbols of biodiversity as logos. They actually use an image of animal or plant species that are or will be threatened.

The concept of Save Your logo is very simple. Save Your Logo creates an opportunity for companies represented by a plant or animal in their logo to contribute to the conservation of that species. From the Lacoste crocodile to the MAAF dolphin, the Peugeot lion and the butterfly of MSN.

"Save Your Logo" is the first global initiative in the field of biodiversity that involves public and private funding.

The Save Your Logo program is held by a non-profit organization

The endowment fund, inspired by the american model of the “endowment fund”, was recently introduced in France by law of economy modernization of August 4th 2008. It is a very convenient legal structure because it can receive and manage assets and rights of any types that are provided for free and forever. It is entitled to receive all types of gifts: gifts, donations and bequests. As a foundation, the endowment fund is managed by a Board of Directors, with a minimum of three members. The law does not set a maximum number of directors.

Designed to operate in the areas mentioned in Articles 200 and 238 bis of the General Tax Code, the endowment fund directly or indirectly supports the achievement of a work or a mission of general interest. Through the character of general interest, donors to an endowment fund will be able to benefit (under certain conditions) of the tax system of patronage:

  • for individuals: reduction of the income tax up to 66% of the amount of the donation and up to 20% of the annual taxable income;
  • for businesses, reduction of the corporate tax of 60% of the amount of the donation up to the limit of 0.5% of the annual turnover.

To ensure the financial transparency and regularity of its operation, the endowment fund has an external auditor. In addition, governments, through the role entrusted to the Prefects, will ensure that the endowment fund meets the purpose for which it was created and the regulations applicable to it.

In addition, as soon as the endowment fund will start to receive donations under the system of patronage, particularly during the call to public generosity, it will be submitted to the Court of Auditors.
